Quitting smoking is often not easy. Because there is an addiction, there is an almost uncontrollable need to smoke and withdrawal symptoms can occur at the loss of a cigarette. If a person has been smoking for some time, the cigarette is woven into almost all daily activities.
Quitting smoking can be difficult then, because suddenly you have to do all those things without a cigarette. We want to promote the health of people in Amstelland as much as possible. This includes counselling to stop smoking. The counselling we offer is mainly aimed at changing behaviour and breaking patterns. We provide insight into the function that smoking has for you and give advice on how to cope with the difficult moments. The ultimate goal is to work towards a smoke-free future.
Here you will find all information about the options for quitting smoking within the Amstelland region. Below is an overview of the affiliated GP practices. Through Sinefuma, patients can receive online counselling or group training sessions.
From Monday 17 March 2025, we will be working with a new software system. To make this transition as smooth as possible, we will only be available by phone on Friday 14 March for emergencies. On this day, we cannot make appointments, carry out online consultations or process repeat prescriptions.
During the week of 17 March, waiting times on the phone and in the waiting room may be longer than usual, as our staff still needs to get used to the new system. We ask for your understanding.
Kind regards,
Team Keizer Karelpark
