A safe home

Safe Home is the advice and reporting centre for domestic violence and child abuse. Whether it concerns yourself or someone close to you: you can always come to them with questions, suspicions or concerns. Talking is the first step towards help.

Contact Safe Home. Even if in doubt.

Do you need advice or help for yourself and/or someone else? Safe Home is there for you. When you contact Safe Home, you come into contact with a Safe Home staff member. The staff member takes the time to listen carefully to your story, puts everything together, answers your questions and gives advice. He or she also works with you to see what help is needed. It is possible to share your story anonymously.

What can you do if you are worried about someone else?

Sometimes you notice signs that make you wonder if everything is all right. Perhaps there is regular noise and arguments at a neighbour's house, you often see someone with unexplained bruises, or you notice a child's behaviour - for example, that he is very skittish or gloomy. It is far from always clear exactly what is going on, and whether there is neglect, maltreatment or abuse. Still, it is important not to look away and seek help or advice. Wondering what you can do?

Are you under 18?

Are things not going well at your home? Or are things not going well with you? Because you are being scolded, for example, or maybe even beaten? Or because your parents fight a lot and call each other names? Then you would like to do something about it.

Talk about it!
It is very important that you don't stick around with it alone. The sooner help comes, the better. So talk to someone about it! Even if some people tell you not to talk.

If you do talk about it, you can take a step towards a solution together, however scary it may sometimes be. You can always call Safe Home (free of charge), but of course you can always call or chat with the Children's Helpline!
