We are increasingly receiving requests from patients without chronic conditions - especially without diabetes - to be prescribed Ozempic or similar drugs.
However, we prescribe these drugs only for when the following conditions are met:
In doing so, we adhere to the guidelines of the NHG (Dutch College of General Practitioners) for diabetes and obesity. Note that the NHG currently still advises against the use of these drugs in obesity, read more here about that.
Ozempic is a medicine intended for people with type 2 diabetes. Ozempic's active ingredient, semaglutide, mimics the action of GLP-1 hormone, which affects blood sugar levels and appetite.
Dear patient,
In the invitation letter for the flu vaccination, an error was accidentally made. It says it is for the pneumococcal vaccination, but that is not correct.
The invitation is for the flu shot. You can just come on the date and time mentioned in the letter.
We apologise for the confusion and thank you for your understanding.
We would like to ask you not to call the practice.
Sincerely,
Keizer Karelpark general practice
