Preparing healthily for Ramadan

Ramadan begins in the third week of March. Do you have diabetes or take medication? And would you like to participate in Ramadan? Then discuss this in advance with your GP or practice nurse.

  • If you diabetes have: you may experience health problems due to fasting. Talk to your GP or practice nurse before Ramadan starts. You will be given a new schedule for your medicines.
  • If you medicines used for another disease: your body may react differently to the medicines. Discuss with your GP or practice nurse whether you can join. Together, look at how you can continue taking your medicines safely. Don't stop taking it yourself.
